Development
At MDD, we believe everyone who wants a job should have access to one. Our workforce development efforts found in expanding career pathways, strengthening training, and aligning opportunities with the needs of high-growth industries.
Establish Regional Intermediary: By creating a regional workforce intermediary grounded in MemWorks and our Regional Economic Strategy report, we coordinate initiatives that unify training and remove barriers to employment.
Expand Credentialing & Career Readiness: We boost STEM and postsecondary success, expand access to credentials, and deploy training hubs with mobile learning so that opportunities reach every corner of the region.
Align Training & Industry Needs: Workforce pipelines are built for sectors such as advanced manufacturing, electric vehicles, healthcare, logistics, agribusiness, and the arts—anchoring jobs in our region’s future.
Expand Hiring & Advancement: Apprenticeships, re-entry programs, and youth-focused initiatives open doors, while business partnerships ensure training leads directly to jobs.
Through these strategies, the MidSouth creates a skilled, adaptable workforce ready to meet the region’s growing economic demands.
